STIFLE
The inspiration for this series comes from China's biggest privileged class, the elders. They hold the right to interpret the "truth", and the elders are ready to intervene and even take over the lives of their juniors in the manner of "experienced people", judges and almighty God. Niccolo di Bernardo Dei Machiavelli said, "The end is always the defence of the means." You can never go wrong doing what your elders do because what they do is "for your own good". In this system of seniority, the personality of the younger generation is dwarfed into dwarfism for the elder's amusement. Our culture seems to lack an equally popular proverb to warn them of the experience of time, the so-called "truth" he has mastered.
In this series, I reflect on the pain of being suppressed by my elders as a descendant and the helplessness of being powerless to resist.
